My Predictions for 2010

It's New Year's eve and I thought it would be a good time to make some predictions for the year to come, it seems everyone else is, so here we go.

  1. Apple and Google's relationship will deteriorate; Google has released products and is planning to release products that will compete with Apple's products. I also see Google getting into the music business in the future, which will not be good for Apple.
  2. There will be a major internet scare in privacy; more and more of people's information is being stored on the internet and that increases security risks. No one can guarantee complete security online, someone will find a way to hack into it, it's just a matter of time. After all, as they say, "If you're looking for security on the internet you're looking in the wrong place."
  3. The Apple Tablet will be released; there has already been so much hype about it, so I think it does really exist. It will run a stripped down version of OS X, but will have more of an iPhone feel to a Mac feel and it won't have a stylus, because that's just not cool. :D
  4. Optical media will become obsolete; With the internet offering us so much media we won't need things like CDs or DVDs, or Blu-rays.
  5. Google Chrome will pass Firefox in popularity; Chrome is a very fast and sleek web browser. It has already overtaken Safari (or so I have heard) and with the release of Linux and Mac OS versions it is sure to increase in popularity even more.

Excuses and iTunes News

Ok, so I guess I've got some explaining to do about why I haven't been posting, well it goes like this. A while back I somehow managed to break my router, either that or it commited suicide. Either way I'm now using the broadband modem that my ISP gave me when I signed up with them, but it might as well be a narrowband modem because from the 21st of December and the 1st of January I managed to download 15 GB of data, exceeding my limit for the month. So now my speed has dropped to 50 KB/S, and doesn't go back up again until the 20th. I don't even want to know how I managed to download 15 GB in a matter of days.

Anyway in other news some of you might know that Macworld '09 happened recently. As well as a lot of other interesting stuff, or boring stuff, which ever way you look at it, the iTunes Store is going to start offering DRM free music, this means that you will now be able to take that song anywhere and put it on multiple computers and devices. At the moment there are only a few DRM free songs available but soon iTunes will be offering every song on iTunes DRM free. That's great!

Oh yeah and one last thing,

Happy New Year!
